Slam Transport, headquartered in Coventry, has recently made a strategic move by acquiring a 6.5-acre site near York to enhance its haulage capabilities in the northern region of England. This new site at Wilberfoss will serve as a vital foothold for the company’s ongoing expansion.
The site is fully secure, featuring a barrier entry system and an impressive 18,000 sq ft industrial unit. Key facilities include vehicle inspection pits, a spray booth, a five-tonne travelling crane, 10 roller shutter doors, and ample office space.
In tandem with the acquisition of the property from Montracon, Slam Transport has also placed an order for 100 new trailers from the renowned trailer builder.
Harinder Kohli, director at Slam Transport, commented, “In recent years we have expanded our fleet and now operate throughout the UK and beyond. This site has a well-equipped building and a very spacious yard, which can comfortably accommodate plenty of vehicles. It’s also ideally located between the port city of Hull and the A1, and within easy reach of the A19 and M62, making it the perfect location for our new Yorkshire base.”
This strategic investment positions Slam Transport to better serve clients in the north of England while continuing to enhance its operational efficiency and capacity.
